CRGC Members Compete in Eastern Massachussetts Rifle League Competition

The competition was held on three consecutive Saturdays, starting April 28, at the Reading Revolver and Rifle Club in Reading, MA.  Teams come from many neighboring sportsman's clubs, including Haverhill, Woburn, Old Colony and MIT.

Shooting for Chester was Mike Posey of Sandown (Captain), Bob Broughton of Chester, John McNally of Danville, Ken Lawas of Kensington, Frank Gardochian of Fremont, and Glenn Graham of Bedford.

Tooling up for Fly Tying

This will be the first in a series of articles I will be writing for the beginning fly tier. I have been tying flies for about 15 years now and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge, and would like to pass this knowledge on to folks just starting out hopefully to help avoid some of the pitfalls of beginners. I am by no means an expert and am learning new techniques all the time. You may find that others tie with different techniques than myself; there is no right or wrong way to tie a fly. Remember the fish don’t care that the hackle you tied in was a little long. We are imitating natural insects not trying to win a beauty contest.
